Scope

This standard establishes the design, number, and location requirements of airdrop tiedown, suspension, and extraction provisions on airdrop items delivered by LVAD.

Notes

Claudia's Notes:
This standard covers requirements for the Low Velocity Airdrop (LVAD) method.  FYI: Provisions set up according to this standard must also meet MIL-STD-209.  And you'll use MIL-HDBK-669 to determine if the airdrop item can withstand the forces resulting from the impact with the ground using this low velocity and low altitude parachute extraction system.
