Maintainability Verification/ Demonstration/Evaluation (Superseded by MIL-HDBK-471)
Scope
This standard provides procedures and test methods for verification, demonstration, and evaluation of qualitative and quantitative maintainability requirements. It also provides for qualitative assessment of various integrated logistic support factors related to and impacting the achievement of maintainability parameters and item downtime, e.g., technical manuals, personnel, tools and test equipment, maintenance concepts and provisioning.
Notes
Claudia's Notes:
Maintainability, a characteristic of design and installation and affected by various personnel and logistic factors, is one of many system requirements which must be considered during the system engineering effort. The degree of maintainability achieved depends upon the requirements imposed and management emphasis on maintainability. This standard defines a carefully planned program to be implemented for verification, demonstration and evaluation of maintainability.
Cancelled in 1995, it migrated to MIL-HDBK-471 -- The same document but without the authorization to be called out as a requirement in a government contract (to be used for guidance only).
