ASTM-E1653 › Standard Guide for Specifying Dynamic Characteristics of Optical Radiation Transmitting Fiber Waveguides
The following bibliographic material is provided to assist you with your purchasing decision:
Scope
1.1 This guide covers the key parameters that determine the dynamic performance of an optical radiation transmitting fiber waveguide (see Note 1). For the purpose of this guide, optical radiation is electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths from about 200 to about 5000 nm (correspondingly, frequencies of 50000 cm -1 to 2000 cm -1 , and photon energies of 6 eV to 0.25 eV).
Note 1-Typical designations of radiation transmitting fiber waveguides include optical waveguide, fiber-optic, fiber-optic waveguide, and fiber-optic radiation guide.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
