Scope
1.1 This test method describes the measurement of horizontal wind velocity by means of commercially available rotating anemometers and wind vanes attached to the earth's surface in the ambient atmosphere. Wind speeds can be measured in the range of 0.2 to 100 m/s using such anemometers. All wind directions may be measured by commercially available wind vanes within the operating speed range.
1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to consult and establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
